Vivian Paulun
Principal Investigator & Assistant Professor
Vivian spent her postdoc years at MIT with Prof. Nancy Kanwisher and Prof. Joshua Tenenbaum (party funded by a fellowship from the German Research Foundation) and at Gießen University with Prof. Roland Fleming. She did her PhD at Gießen University with Prof. Roland Fleming and Prof. Karl Gegenfurtner and at Western University with Prof. Mel Goodale.
Kendall Scholly
Research Specialist/Lab Manager
Kendall graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.S. in Psychology and minors in Computer Science and Data Science. She is interested in programming, statistical analysis, and functional neuroimaging within psychology research.
Steven Homer
Postdoc
Steve received his PhD in Artificial Intelligence (2025) with Prof. Geraint Wiggins at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Before that, he received his MS in Artificial Intelligence from VUB (2019) and BS from University of Wisconsin – Madison (2012) with a double major in Computer Engineering and Computer Science. Among many other interests, his research focuses on the intersection of information theory, spectral analysis, and cognitive modeling.
Jingyi Zhou
Research Assistant
Jingyi is a master’s student in Psychology through the Data Science in Human Behavior program at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Her research interests broadly span cognition, perception, and the mind, with a particular interest in the common principles that may underlie seemingly different cognitive processes (eg, how people interpret information from the world).
Zixuan (Harry) He
Research Assistant
Harry is an undergraduate student at UW–Madison majoring in Applied Mathematics, Engineering, and Physics (AMEP) and Computer Science. He is interested in intuitive physics and building machine intelligence that can understand and reason about the physical world.
Macy Monte
Research Assistant
Macy is a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Madison pursuing a B.S. in both Biology and Psychology. She is on the Pre-Optometry Track, so her research interests include visual perception and neuroscience.
Emma Erickson
Research Assistant
Emma is a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin–Madison pursuing a B.S. in Neurobiology and Psychology on the Pre-Med track. Her research interests include visual perception, cognitive neuroscience, and the neural mechanisms underlying human decision-making.
